Greenland rolls were developed out of necessity. The water is lethally cold, and hunters were sewn into their
kayaks, so exiting the boat was not an option. Learning these rolls prepared hunters for these dangerous
conditions. Now we learn them to keep the tradition alive -- and because they are a lot of fun!

There are 68 capsize maneuvers in the rolling competition. Here are some of them:
Roll, Roll, Roll your boat (the Greenland way)
Norsaq Roll (forward to aft)
Armpit Roll (also called a Shotgun Roll)
The Standard Greenland Roll
Balance Brace (w/o the paddle)
Hand Roll (forward to aft)
Crook of the Arm Roll
